Peder Norrby of Trapcode presented Professor Ken Perlin the Trapcode Award of Excellence - a statue and $10,000.

The 15 minute ceremony was held in the beginning of Mr. Perlins class on UI design. Peder Norrby stayed for the rest of the class and could conclude that Mr. Perlin is a nice and brilliant person and teacher. Mr. Perlin was coding interactive graphics java-applets on the fly to answer students questions or to illustrate the current topic. It was an honor and pleasure for Peder Norrby to be able to discuss some of the intricacies of the noise algorithm with the inventor himself.
