Trapcode ProLoop - new iPhone app

New type of audio loop app for iPhone and iPod Touch. Written by Jonatan Liljedahl.

Trapcode ProLoop is a powerful and flexible loop player for professional musicians as well as hobbyists. Use it as a live electronic instrument by itself or as an addition to your other gear, or just play around with it and explore the possibilities!

ProLoop comes bundled with many professional loops by Mokira (Andreas Tilliander), Håkan Lidbo, Kymatica and others. It also includes some demo sessions to get you started. But the real power comes by the fact that you can upload your own soundfiles to ProLoop through your web-browser!

Awesome!

The demo track is kick-ass.

Anyway to save / record / export compositions?

Recording to AIF file will most probably be available in a future version, until then you can always hook up your iphone/ipod to some recording equipment.

For that alone, I would buy an iPhone. Great work Peter.

I'm already thinking this on a bigger scale over the iPad, that would really kick ass !!! And you could add a lot of nifty things like the names, waves, pitches, etc... uhmmm, tasty.

pretty please ? :D

I'm trying to see a video of what your app actually does.

You offer:
Example use (flash video): http://www.trapcode.com/proloop/ProLoopScreencast.swf
BUT— I keep getting "Page Not Found. The page /proloop/ProLoopScreencast.swf could not be located on this website."

I also can find no videos of your app on youtube. (what were you thinking?).

A little help in selling me and others on your app please? ; )

Gary, thanks for the heads up! The link has now been fixed. I'm migrating websites and forgot this link.

Thanks,

Is there any way to chop the loops?

March 9, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterRyan

I adore this app so much, I use it constantly to create sessions to listen to while driving, I have uploaded lots of my own loops through the IP upload tool, but I can't figure out how to delete the loops I don't want to keep on there. Is there a way to do it through the upload tool?

(please help....some one)

@bbcb, you can delete loops by swiping them in the filelist in ProLoop. that is, drag your finger rapidly over it, and a "delete" button will appear next to the file.

Hi all, I'm creating my own loops to upload, but they tend to sound quieter than the default sounds (especially percussion). Can anyone recommend the best way to export loops, specifically from either Reason or Ableton. I'm guessing it's something to do with compression but still consider myself an amateur at this! Thanks in advance. eb.

Thanks Jonatan, worked perfect.
eb- use a compressor with a limiter, there are lots of tutorials out there for getting the right sound volume and quality, Ableton is really easy to do this, with a compressor and limiter together to get things loud enough without clipping.

Everythings is wonderful with this app - I'm still doing variations on the loops supplied by proloop.

I think there is one omission: The app needs a pasteboard so loops can be copied and pasted in from other iPhone apps such as jasuto, intua beatmaker etc. This should be a product norm for an iphone app such as this.

Also, 'send by mail' function (out from proloops) would be handy as well.

What about the above for an update??? It would be much appreciated thanks.

Hello,

after my update for ios4 proloop show me problems of clicks in the audio, specifically when choosing a new sound.

update of proloops is the solution?

Thank you

Ingui: what device do you have?

iOS4 is indeed "slower" (takes more CPU, less for us) and that could cause these issues. We are looking into solutions. Meanwhile it would help to know your device.

Hello Peder,

I'm using an Ipod Touch 32GB with OS4.

Thank you

It seems like a very useful tool, I just hope the loops are good indeed and not like in most of the mixing programs on the internet. There's a loop called " viagra without prescription " available on many loop download sites and many others, can I upload them to my iPhone?

Just wondering what sort of soundfiles it will work with
i dont see any mention in the documentation
..mp3?

September 6, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterShane

Shane, that is a good question, and we should put that info readily available. We use an Apple API call to open the soundfiles and it automagically supports a number of formats, but we are not sure exactly which. The ones we have confirmed so far are:
WAV, AIF, MP3 och CAF.
